Weekly Roundup (7/26-8/1)

This week we had a friend in town with us, which was great! :)

It was fun showing someone around Richmond for the first time! Just reaffirmed all of my love for my city! :) We hit up some of the fun hot spots like Carytown, Byrd Park, Lunch at Bottoms Up,  SOTJ Market, and Brunch at RCD.

I had a super busy week in the foster mom department, but it was still an overall laid back week.

Here's what I've been up to this week:

Writing-  Ha. I got exactly NOTHING written this week. Yay me! However, my newest book/novella, Kenna's Reverie, did release! It's a romantic comedy and was so much fun to write! You can pick up a copy here.

Reading- Yeah, here's hoping for next week. I finished like 3 chapters of City of Bones by Cassandra Clare. Still haven't finished Her Master's Courtesan by Lily White and this is the longest I've gone since January without finishing a book. Feels a little crae-crae. ;)

Weight Loss- I lost half of a pound this week but had a milestone because one of my previously considered small jeans no longer fit. Woo woo! I tried to eat really on track all week despite our company and think I did a pretty good job.

Gaming-  Fiddled around with a little Battlefield 4 some more (really not sure I'm feeling this one at all but that's a personal preference!) and played some more Destiny, which I'm loving! I also started on Assassin's Creed: Black Flag, which is the free gold game on xbox one. (Feel free to add me on Xbox!)

Music-  Ha. My music was ALL OVER THE PLACE this week. I played most of my playlists this week and several Spotify ones as well. Song of the week is "Bridges" by Courage my Love.  (Check me out on Spotify to see my playlists!)

News/Causes- Hey Michael Cohen, you actually CAN rape your spouse, you piece of shit.  Obviously I appreciated this piece because sex trafficking is something I'm really passionate about bringing to light. (Hence why I wrote a book series heavily focusing on it!) This was a really fascinating article on how the slave legacy affects the mental health of black Americans. Thank you HuffPost for bringing up the irony of how Americans care more for lions than they do for #BlackLives. (Don't misunderstand me, though, Cecil shouldn't have been shot, but neither should have Sam Dubose.) Sure, let's just change the history books. Sounds like a great plan!

What I'm Wearing- Kept it casual and classy all week. Highlights were leggings and jeans. Some days I wore flats, other days I went with flip flops. Here's a few shots of this weeks outfit choices.

Beauty- I did a smokey eye thing one day, but otherwise kept with my norm of mascara and lip gloss. Specifically, the Victoria Secret Pink lip gloss. Scent wise I was VS Bombshell all week. In the shower I was using my normal Kiss My Face conditioner with VS Pink "Fresh & Clean" bar soap. My cute white pedicure is still holding strong! I had to double my acne fighting measures this week. I swear, in HS I never broke out AT ALL, and here as an adult I am constantly breaking out! (Thank you PCOS!)

What I'm watching- Still didn't catch up on my shows! I did however watch some movies again with the guys (that I've seen before but still!). We watched Clerks 2, Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back (aka the best movie ever!), 22 Jump Street, and Inglorious Bastards. I also (again) watched South Park every night before bed.

Mommyhood- Lesson of the week, locking my own bedroom door so that my Ipsy samples don't end up all over the kiddos and their room. Lesson learned tiny humans. Lesson learned. Remember my irritation with Mickey Mouse last week? Yeah, it officially "doesn't work" this week. Daniel Tiger is slightly less annoying. Ha.

Self Awareness- This week my focus has been on trying to believe in the good. Sometimes you get burned so many times that it's easy to become jaded and sort of cynical. My focus this week was trying to go back to believing in the good as just good- not good with a motive.

That's it for this week, folks!

As always, leave me some comment love!
